Jacqueline Biollo joins Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association (ACTLA)

Seasoned public affairs professional and business strategist to assume the role of Executive Director

(Calgary) Jackie Halpern, Q.C., President of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association (ACTLA) Board of Governors is pleased to welcome Jacqueline Biollo to the Association. “Jacqueline’s unique insight on what it takes to drive innovation, leverage people’s potential, and lead successful initiatives with passion and purpose will benefit ACTLA, its membership and stakeholders,” said Halpern. “Leveraging her political experience and hands-on understanding of regulatory, procedural, and government practices, Jacqueline can confidently advocate on behalf of the Association, discuss and define concerns, review proposed public policies, and develop positions on various municipal, provincial and federal issues.”

“The addition of Jacqueline’s skillset and background align perfectly with the needs of ACTLA and the Association’s continued growth,” Halpern went on to say.

The Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association was founded in the Spring of 1986 as a non-profit society dedicated to the objectives of advancing the science of jurisprudence, training in all fields and phases of advocacy, upholding the honour and dignity of the profession of law, encouraging brotherhood and sisterhood among the members of the bar, upholding and improving the adversary system and trial by jury, and promoting the administration of justice and the public good.

“ACTLA offers me the unparalleled opportunity to establish and maintain cross-collaborative relationships among stakeholders, and continue to excel in demanding, highly visible environments.”

Jacqueline holds an MBA in Executive Management and Economic Development from Royal Roads University and completed the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) program from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Jacqueline is a former elected official, former certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP), certified Auctioneer, published model and actress, and the founder of an inner-city arts program (ArtStart). Her professional experience includes work for the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and currently serves as a Board Member and Presiding Officer for the Municipal Government Board (MGB).

“On behalf of the Board of Governors, we welcome Jacqueline to her new role as Executive Director and look forward to working alongside her to advance the objectives of ACTLA.”

Feel free to reach out to Jacqueline at (780) 905-5200 and introduce yourself.

Kind regards,
Jackie R. Halpern, Q.C.
